It all started in 1833 when Antoine LeCoultre opened his own workshop and pioneered a machine to produce watchmaking pinions and later dedicated his time to the creation of complete movements. The company has developed around this workshop ever since.
LeCoultre raised the bar when they constructed the world’s most accurate measuring instrument in 1844. By 1888, the company had over 500 employees.
Fast forward to 1903, where Parisian Edmond Jaeger challenged LeCoultre by developing an ultra-thin movement. LeCoultre went on to introduce the world’s thinnest movement in response Edmond’s challenge. This gave birth to a life long friendship and so the Jaeger LeCoultre brand was officially formed in 1937.
The company has since flourished exponentially and has introduced countless collections with cutting edge complications.
